Thanks, Craig - I got bogged down with other things but will try the options you suggested when I get time, probably this weekend, and will keep you posted. Really appreciate all the help you've given me!

dizygotheca: The stuttering stops if I pause for several seconds and then play. I'm happy doing this if it's what it takes to stop the stuttering and allow playback with rewind.

Craig: I've uploaded a screenshot of the tuner setup. When I added the tuner, I cycled through the tuners (didn't manually enter IP address). Couldn't find a signal indicator except in the HDHR Configure app but the channel numbers don't make sense (don't match the six I get) and the View button invokes VLC which doesn't play anything.

I think I'm happy to continue using HDHR View for most things and when football starts again, may try the record or pause option to buffer the playback. Thanks everyone for the suggestions.

That strongly suggests that your network is on the borderline of being able to consistently deliver enough packets to keep up. Wireless can be very bursty.

Your cable company maps the channels onto whatever frequencies they want to use for delivery. Myth and set-top boxes use the virtual number for display. You may have to hunt (scan) a bit to find your problem channel. If your problem channel is at either end of the frequencies used, it could be subject to more attenuation.

I hope (but can't recall offhand) that this utility shows the signal strength and quality. For cable, I think both should be in the 90s. If less, that could be contributing to your problems.
