[Solved] stream and direct download on Mythweb not working

Clean install Ubuntu desktop 24.04 / MythTV 34. When I try to stream or do a download of a recording from Mythweb, I get an error --

20801_20241124163000.ts does not exist in any recognized storage group directories for this host.

The files are there in the location of the default storage group (/home/mythweb/recordings as shown in backend setup), owned by mythtv and readable by world (664).

There is another thread that suggests installing libcgi-session-perl corrects this issue but I did that and restarted apache2 and it didn't seem to help. I don't see errors in the apache2 logs. I must be missing something, and would appreciate any insight.

Mythweb is no longer being maintained. Most users are using the web app instead. It has some of the functionality of Mythweb.

A belated thank you for the response directing me to the webapp and noting that mythweb is no longer maintained.

The webapp has a good compliment of features but I don't see a way to stream a recording. I can only download and then play. It appears streaming is now done using an app that is smart enough to open a URL, e.g.

• open the dashboard on http://myth-server-name:6544/dashboard/recordings

• right click on the download link for what you want to stream and choose "Copy Link Address"

• Run VLC or other network-stream-capable media player and choose "Open Network Stream"

• Paste the copied link address and click "Play"
