Play as it records.

Ok so I am trying to figure out how to play a video as it is recording. I have one way that works.

If I mount the server's mythbackend's output directory via sshfs I can use vlc on the output file and I can watch as it records. Which is kind of awesome.
If I try allowing that directory to be open in a web page ie: http://myserver/mythbackend/<file.ts>
then opening that path in vlc it plays to the point that file was written and exits.
Maybe there is a way to tell vlc to keep downloading the file and that the file size has changed?

Other programs and file sharing methods I can use? I will try samba mounts when I get home.

Correction on my sshfs mount vlc will quit out if you get to close to the end if you sit about 2 minutes behind it seems to be ok.

When I use MythTV Frontend, and select Media Library and Watch Recordings, currently recording content is selectable to watch.
