What about TBS 2980 Matrix 2 ARM mini PC?

This little box would be ideal. But could MM2 be used on this do you think? Probably a better solution than running an Android frontend, if it's possible. What do you think?

oh - this is comparable to PI2 class of davice (ARM CPU, OpenMAX GPU, etc).
MythTV is not supporting OpenMAX so no go :-(

Where does OpenMAX fit in? Isn't that software?

The Matrix 2 comes with Android installed and there is at least 1 Android Frontend for MythTV, so I'm trying to understand where OpenMAX fits into all that. Is it something to do with Android or with that Matrix 2 specifically?

As I said, trying to get my head around where the problem lies. The Matrix 2 would be THE IDEAL MythTV front end, isn't there any possible way to get it to work? What would be required?

That discussion went a bit above my head. That deep into the code is beyond my experience and knowledge.

I recently came across MXIII - G TV Box 4K

Probably the best alternative I've found and capable of 4K so obviously powerful enough. The idea of such a small 'TV copy' box running MM2, network booting from the server is just so appealing. If there was any way we could make this work...
