HDMI to USB input device
We have a weird cable setup here so I am getting an HDMI switch so I can route the cable output to my Ubuntu server to hopefully use mythtv as cable here no longer supports a TiVo at my location. In order to input to my server (a small old zbox with external drives for media storage) I need to use a HDMI to USB input device that I have used before in windows. I have never used mythtv so I have to ask if it can get its input from such a device. Thank you.
Re: HDMI to USB input device
MythTV can be used with some devices that use a USB port. One example that I have previously used is a Hauppauge WinTV-DCR-2650.

Re: HDMI to USB input device
Thank you for the reply. I guess I will have to find some time this weekend to install Mythtv on my little server and see if the USB device works with it. Keeping my fingers crossed.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

There are various different approaches to do what you want take a look on the wiki for example
