[Solved] XMLTV Configuration Issue Mythtv V.34 Ubuntu 24.04 LTS

Fresh install of Ubuntu 24.04 LTS and Mythtv V.34. I used Mythbuntu Control Panel to get to Backend Setup and am currently configuring Video Sources. I completed the setup panel and Saved. I am working rhrough https://www.mythtv.org/wiki/XMLTV and am stuck at tv_grab_zz_sdjson_sqlite --days 0 --config-file $HOME/.mythtv/SD.xmltv. I receive this error message "Database not defined in config file /home/mythtv/.mythtv/ScheduleDirectJSONSQLite.xmltv.TMP.
Please run 'tv_grab_zz_sdjson_sqlite --configure'"

I have run --configure multiple times and don't understand what the problem is. I am running as user mythtv. The directory /home/mythtv/.xmltv/ contain 2 files: SchedulesDirect.DB and tv_grab_zz_sdjson_sqlite.conf. The directory /home/mythtv/.mythtv/ contains 2 files: config.xml and SchedulesDirectJSONSQLite.xmltv.TMP --> I don't understand where the .TMP extension came from. My gut is to rename the file removing the .TMP extension. The xmltv file in this directory is what is specified in the Backend Setup Video Source Name without the .xmltv.TMP extensions.

I also displayed the contents of the .xmltv.TMP and .conf files and they are identical. Does that make sense?

My gut is I'm close. I also know that I am stuck in this crazy "Database not define in config file ...." loop.

What do I do next?

Hi,

I'll confess to not reading all of the above, but will suggest looking at this:
viewtopic.php?p=19508#p19508

It has an example of the added files. Be sure that the owner:group of the files
and directories in play have write permission (ls -l <your files and dirs).

@bill6502 thank you very much for the quick response. The diagram was very helpful. I cleaned up the extra files and edited the .xmltv configuration file. Then I went back and ran the XMLTV Wiki page commands from the beginning and everything now looks good.

I have one more quick question for someone on the output of the day 0 command. I receive a WARNING on a missing Perl module. The rest of the output looks clean and accurate. Does anyone know if I need the Perl module in the message below? If it is required, how do I go about installing it?

Mythfilldatabase now runs "successfully" but I have a problem with the 'xmltv channel identifier' as it is unknown. The execution log is below. I thought the xmltv channel identifier initially came from Schedules Direct so I am confused as to how to fix this.

This question is resolved as well. It turns out my channel scan during configuration was not successful. I went back through the capture card, etc. configuration pages and changed some parameters for a successful scan. All is good now with my SQL Schedules Direct interface.
