radio streaming

ubuntu 20.04.1 mythtv 31

Many stations listed play in a browser but not in mythmusic. Have there been recent changes to the internal player?

Nothing has change for a while on the MythMusic side other than the pointless code cleanups

Can you give an example of a radio stream that doesn't play (ideally one that I'm likely able to play in the UK).

OK thanks. Yeah I can confirm that first one does not work.

I can see why it's failing the format of the .pls playlist files it is sending has [Playlist] as the group marker when all the examples I've seen say it should be [playlist] all lower case. That should be an easy one to fix.

What a cool find that's a real blast from the past  . Before my time of cause ;) but really interesting listening to the old records, jiggles and adverts. I recognise the voice of Tony Blackburn and Kenny Everett. The wiki page says John Peel, Tommy Vance and Ed Stewart were also 'disc jockeys' for the station. Even their website looks retro 8-) http://www.266.vze.com/

Anyway all you need to do to get this to play is move the xxxx://188.40.135.197:8392/listen.pls url to the top of the list and it will play OK (I've deliberately obfuscated the URL to prevent people inadvertently clicking it). Some of the other URLs are old non functioning ones and MythMusic currently only uses the first one in the list (I should probably fix that one day).
