Where did the keybindings for Mythvideo go in 30?

Post by kdx7214 »

Back in 0.29 I could set a bookmark in MythVideo with the B key. This was under a mythvideo section in Edit Keys. I've recently reinstalled the entire system with 30 and can't find any reference to mythvideo at all. I have little interest in TV Recordings or playback. I just want to setup the keys again for videos.

Obviously something change and I'm sure there was a good reason for it. How do I restore the old 0.29 bookmark functionality to mythvideo?

Use Settings, or open a web browser, and visit http:// BACKEND. IP. ADDRESS. HERE/mythweb/settings/mythtv/keys.
Add a unique key for Add Bookmark.

I don't have mythweb (because it did not work when I tried it so I removed it). Settings | Edit keys doesn't have an option for Add Bookmarks anymore. There are only 7 options now and none of them deal with bookmarks.

Alternately, if you can tell me what the proper entry is for the keybindings table I can just put it in manually.

Look in TV playback for setbookmark. Works for videos too.

Another option is TV Playback Toggle Bookmark if you like. Typically set to Enter, Return and Space.

I suspect something major has changed in mythvideo and nobody documented it or something. On a clean setup space is now pause (instead of 'p') and the enter key does nothing at all. I've tried the TV Playback stuff and none of them seem to work in mythvideo, so I'm stumped.

I tried that. Unless it does it completely silently with no user feedback, it doesn't work in mythvideo.

Are you using: Media Library->Watch Videos? Or maybe we're talking about different things.

OK, there were a series of commits that affected keybindings in v31 cherry-picked
to v30. They were related to the Android addition.

A link in the v30 release notes: https://github.com/MythTV/mythtv/commit/5f9ddd6df3
may point you in the right direction I can't duplicate the problem on my host, but it's always
upgraded, not new.

Yup, that's exactly what I'm doing, Media Library | Watch Videos.

That sounds like what's happening to me. I wonder if somehow the "android" part got lost and everything now does it.

What is the value of Settings->Edit Keys->TV Playback->Pause ?

There was a transitional case where it was set to a question mark. That
MAY affect the bookmark and pause bindings.

I just added @ as an additional Toggle Bookmark in TV Playback
then tested it while watching a video. Worked as expected. Removed
it from Toggle Bookmark and put in in Add Bookmark which worked
too.

I'm at a loss about the previous B setting as all instances I see
use that as the default for (the very old) Picture in Picture. If
you want B, you'll need to delete B from Toggle active PIP/PBP window
(which is also in TV Playback.) The GUI refuses to use duplicate
bindings.

Please try going to Setup --> Edit Keys --> TV Playback. Delete 'B' under NextPIPWiondow, and add 'B' under SetBookmark, or use an unused key for SetBookmark. This will work for TV playback and videos.
