channel unavailable

Post by Jeff42 »

So im about ready to put my kodi client on the tv, and it says channel unavailable. guide info is there though :).

so I noticed a few things that look wrong

from the log
Oct 4 14:12:28 raspberrypi mythbackend: mythbackend[2258]: I TVRecEvent tv_rec.cpp:3682 (TuningFrequency) TVRec[1]: TuningFrequency

E TVRecEvent threadedfilewriter.cpp:126 (Open) TFW(/media/pi/MULTIBOOT/LIVE/10701_20191004124717.ts:-1): Opening file '/media/pi/MULTIBOOT/LIVE/10701

Oct 4 13:47:17 raspberrypi mythbackend: mythbackend[28070]: E TVRecEvent tv_rec.cpp:4647 (GetProgramRingBufferForLiveTV) TVRec[1]: RingBuffer '/media/pi/MULTIBOOT/LIVE/10701_20191004124717.ts' not open...

Oct 4 13:47:17 raspberrypi mythbackend: mythbackend[28070]: E TVRecEvent tv_rec.cpp:4680 (CreateLiveTVRingBuffer) TVRec[1]: CreateLiveTVRingBuffer(7_1) failed

Oct 4 13:47:17 raspberrypi mythbackend: mythbackend[28070]: E TVRecEvent tv_rec.cpp:3809 (TuningFrequency) TVRec[1]: Failed to create RingBuffer 1

confirmed with mythweb which says in backend status
Total Disk Space:
Total Space: 0 MB
Space Used: 0 MB
Space Free: 0 MB

so initially I had it defaulted to my sd card and it worked, but its only 8gb so I've put in a USB stick for now, not having a HD ready quite yet.

then I did chmod 777 on it, but still no luck.

I can navigate to the directory and manually add files to it and I figured the chmod would let anything modify it. so I'm not sure what it wants to see here. I assume its trying to make a buffer for live tv and cant create a file hence the error.

Another problem arises from mythtv-setup , I cant delete the old directories the delete key doesnt work? Is there a text file I can hand modify? the wiki insists on using mythtv-setup.

edit: I formatted the usb drive in linux and now it shows as drive #2 with space open. But still no luck in getting it to open files.
