LIRC issues after upgrade to Ubuntu 18.04.

I noticed that lirc is quirky after upgrading from 14.04 to 18.04. For one, it couldn't find the streamzap configs....etc.

I guess my question is are people moving to ir-keytable instead of lirc? I didn't spend a lot of time dealing with it, but "OK" doesn't work. Up and down does but I can't select anything.

I tried a dpkg-reconfigure with no success. I used to use a control panel or something to add the streamzap in the lirc tab. I forget the name of it. Is there something to get the streamzap configs?

After ~16 years using lirc I switched to ir-keytable a year or two ago and don't regret it.

That was helpful sort of. I was able to get lirc 9 installed and it recognized the dpkg-reconfigure lirc and created the streamzap remote config, but Mythtv doesn't like it. IRW works. Its a hack either way.

OK ... lirc works. I knew the daemon was happy since irw returned everything properly. I restarted mythfrontend and it works! I never thought I could be so happy just to see the OK button work again. Sigh.
