Pi Zero W

Post by jac1d »

Is there any chance a Pi Zero W could function as MythLight FE? I realize the main CPU is severely constrained but I believe it has the full HW decode capabilities of the other Pis? I'm anticipating a slow GUI but playback being ok?

I think it only has 512MB memory. The regular raspberry pi with 1G memory is already pushing the memory limit and I think 512MB will not be enough. Also the wifi may not be fast enough for playback of HD programs. 802.11 ac is fine but less than that may not be fast enough.
