Deleting previously-recorded TV shows

I need to delete recordings of shows that I have watched, to make space on my disk drive. I have done this before, but have forgotten how to do it, and my searches of the web, the wiki, and the forum have not turned up anything useful.

I know that I had to select individual shows and then use a pop-up menu to get to the "delete" function, but I cannot remember the details of what I did.

Can anyone give me a clue as to how to proceed?

An alternate way to get that menu is to hit the right arrow key on the remote when the recording is selected. Also, you can press the D key.
