We have a daily video we want to download from a site, mp4. I can do that with a simple program each day. Now, the question is, how can I get myhtv to recognize it. It appears there could be 2 options, recording or video.
A video seems easy enough, add it to the folder and get mythtv to see it and it's added. The problem would be that I need to use it more as a recording. So, possibilities:
1. Wife watches, is done with it, and deletes it.
2. Wife does not watch it, gets busy, we go on vacation, whatever. I want it to autoexpire, which videos can't do?
3. Wife watches it, and, wants to watch it again, easy, just don't delete it
4. Wife wants to retain it and never expire.
I don't see off hand how to do 2 and 4 with videos.
So, with recordings, all those functions are supported, but, I don't see a good way to add these via any API.
Anyone have a good solution?

Re: How to import videos
I've never played with it, but maybe the Import Recorder can help you?

I'm not sure what to do for the Video Source and metadata about the recording...

Re: How to import videos
It actually works with V29. I simply used the patch (adjusted for line #'s in V29) and compiled up mythtv using the patch and it works great in V29. Loving it!
