[Solved] Compile/install mythmusic plugin

Post by peteh »

Hi there. I'm new and this is my first post.
I've been using mythtv for a few years now but have always used a ready-made rpm.
I decided to try compiling from source with myth 29 and have it running sucessfully. However i can't get the mythmusic plugin added.
I'm on openSUSE leap15 with kernel-4.17.x and as far as I can tell Ihave all the correct dependencies. Configure told me I was missing flac and vorbis, which I'm not, so I added the '-devel' versions too. It all seems to work but there's nothing showing in the frontend.
Can anyone tell me how it's done, please?

Hi,

In your frontend log (probably /var/log/mythtv/mythfrontend.log) See if there's a
line like this, just for starters:

Code: Select all

Current MythMusic Schema Version (MusicDBSchemaVer): xxxx
You should add the menus your expecting MythMusic to show up in. It changes
based on the Setup->Appearance->Theme/Screen Settings->Menu Theme.

I don't appear to have a log file that shows me that. I've tried reinstalling several times with no (mythmusic) success. I've reverted to 0.28.
However, I did the compile on opensuse tumbleweed, including mythmusic, and it succeeded, so I kept that one.

Just to close this off. I have retried myth-29 from myth-0.28 and it now includes myth music on my main leap 15 system. It's hard to be sure now but I think I was missing fftw-devel and cdio-devel originally.
All is well now.
I also have manjaro on another partition but that's for another time!
