0.27 fixes mythbuntu backend setup fails to shutdown backend

Post by jimls »

Using OTA and one of the stations changed requiring a rescan. I got a failed to open card even though the card was working. I discovered a bug report on this that seems to match my issue and command line stopping the backend worked.

But it referred it to mythbuntu and I wasn't able to find anything on that. What's the status of this?

Know problem with older versions of mythtv. Look in the settings for the command to start/ stop the backend and change them to what works for your os system. Here it was systemctl start mythtv-backend and systemctl stop mythtv-backend, If you have an older os it may be the service command, or you can use killall mythbackend from a terminal before trying setup scan. It got fixed in a recent 29.1 update and there is no more setting for the start or stop that I find. Not sure if it was back ported or not but you may try upgrading your mythtv.
