Does anything other than frontend (plugins) use python?

Any other mythtv programs using python? Backend? Commercial detection? Previewgen? etc.

Not speaking of add on scripts, etc.

If backend uses python somewhere, can you tell me for what function? Trying to test some new builds.

mythmetadatalookup is run by the backend if directed by recording rules.
It calls some scripts. For example, with default builds:

/usr/local/share/mythtv/metadata/Television/ttvdb.py
/usr/local/share/mythtv/metadata/Movie/tmdb3.py
