In both 0.27 and 0.28 the API call 'UpdateDBChannel' has limitations:
a) It does not support writing CommFree. I'm aware that the values of CommFree changed between 0.27 (0 or 1) and 0.28 (false or true) and that this is an issue for the API application.
b) it does not clearing of xmltvid by writing a 'null' value. It will allow a non-null value such as a single space.
