Display if a recording is 'SD' or 'HD' in 'Programme Details' screen

Post by steve_t »

Hi,

Below, by 'scheduled', I mean scheduled for broadcast not scheduled to be recorded !

I often find that I have a recording that was made on an SD channel but the show or film is re-broadcast at a later date on an HD channel.
ie In the UK a film may be shown first on 'Film 4' in SD and some time later, maybe months later, in HD on Channel 4.

To check if I want to record a scheduled show/film I will press 'i' to look at the 'Programme Details' from the 'Programme Guide' screen which will tell me if the programme is already recorded, but not say if it is an SD or HD recording, therefore I often end up re-recording HD programmes/films unnecessarily or not creating an HD recording of an existing SD recording.

Displaying whether an existing recording is in 'HD' or 'SD' in the 'Programme Details' screen, from the 'Programme Guide' screen, would allow the user to decide if the scheduled HD programme should be recorded to replace the existing SD recording.
