The other night I was watching a video and I wanted to pause it, but I was near the end and I didn't want to see how much time was left as that can be something of a spoiler. Also, sometimes I want to pause to view something on the screen, like a note or a subtitle or something in the banner at the bottom of the screen when watching sports, but if I pause I get this box covering up part of the screen (at least in MC-wide -- I wonder if I could change that so the box is transparent at least?).
It would be nice if there was another option that just stopped the recording/video in place silently. Perhaps hit 'f' for "freeze"?
TIA
A silent pause

Re: A silent pause
One thing you could do is pause the playback and then press Esc to clear the overlay, this will leave you with nothing on the screen but the video, at least it does for me on V33.

Thanks. Can't believe I never tried that.
