Positioning of information banners

Post by vidtek »

On every single theme, the information banner (as when a stream is paused) is situated at the bottom which blots out any subtitles or information showing on the channel being paused.
Why put it here? It would make more sense to position it at the top.
Just a pet peeve of mine.
Cheers Tony.

EDIT: For those who are annoyed by this, I found a work-around in just the MythCentre-wide theme.
In line 24 of the osd.xml file, change the area property from 520 to 40, as in

Code: Select all

<area>0,520,1180,200</area>

Code: Select all

<area>0,40,1180,200</area>
Other themes do it differently, this is easy.

I have had that thought as well. I assume it is at the bottom since that is where it has always been. Folks might expect it to be down there.

But I agree with you. I could try this on Mythbuntu and commit it if there are no objections.

@twitham1
Thanks for your interest.

I have sussed a couple more now, Steppes (large font) and Blue_Abstract_Wide.

I'll stick them on my mega storage account here:- https://mega.nz/folder/cwRnmRBK#Sxsp5EMacTZv7n9Q0LZN7w

For Arclight use this at lines 728/9

Code: Select all

     <window name="osd_status">
        <area>1280,91,629,156</area>			#was 1280,910,629,156
Cheers Tony.
