Just upgraded my backend, and discovered that kodi was no longer bookmarking correctly, so went looking for other frontends. Found leanback for mythtv and it works great.
But, my playlists(on leanfront) are filling up with watched episodes. How do you hide watched episodes?

Re: watched episodes on leanfront
Which playlists are you referring to?
There are options in leanfront setup to control whether watched and deleted episodes show in the "recently viewed" list and the "related videos" list.
In the Recording groups, watched episodes are shown until you delete them. You can set "Time to retain deleted recordings (days)" so that deleted recordings are still available for some time after you mark them as deleted.

I'm referring to the "default" playlist but also if you click that, all the individual show list of episodes.
My mythtv backend is set to only delete episodes if space is needed on the hard drive.

Re: watched episodes on leanfront
leanfront works the same as mythfrontend. Watched episodes are still in the main list, and they have ane "EYE" icon to indicate they are watched.
If you delete the episodes they will no longer be in the dedfault list, they will be in the Deleted list. You can set "Time to retain deleted recordings (days)" to -1 so that MythTV will leave them in the Deeleted group until the disk space is needed.
I recommend you set "Time to retain deleted recordings (days)" to -1 and then delete episodes after watching them.

Re: watched episodes on leanfront
Mythfrontend has the "All Programs" list, which has watched and unwatched episodes.
But, it also has the "Watch List", which is just the unwatched episodes. You might need to turn this "Watch List" on, so it could be that you are unfamiliar with it. The "Watch List" is very convenient to identify exactly what shows should be watched next.
Having either the "Watch List" or a option to just hide all watched episodes would seem like a nice option for your users. I know I can get close to the functionality I want by changing my delete habits(manual or 7 day), but I'm sure most mythfrontend users that have converted to leanfront really want the ultimate feature which is "Watch List".
Thanks for your time and consideration for this idea.

Re: watched episodes on leanfront
The "Recently Viewed" list may help you. You can enable the recently viewed list in settings. The recently viewed list shows at the top of the main page. If you select an item in recently viewed you get the detail page and if you click down arrow you get other episodes of the series (related videos list).
In settings select the option to trim the recently viewed list so that you only see the latest viewed episode on the main screen then when you click down in the detail screen of one item you see other episodes.
In setting there are many options you can choose. I suggest you select to not show deleted or watched episodes in the related videos list. You can order episodes in icreasing or decreasing order. Also set the number of days in the recent list to the maximum (60).

Re: watched episodes on leanfront
I tried the "Recently Viewed" list, but new unwatched episodes do not appear there.
