I just bought a new Nvidia Shield a couple days ago and installed Leanfront on it via Google Play. It picked up all my recordings and movies just fine. But when I play Live TV I have a problem. It seems that If I'm watching a channel, and then stop watching, when I go back to that same channel I get the little circle spinning for a long time eventually ending with an error message saying "Live TV failed with status: Null". I can go another channel and it starts normally but if I then got back to that same channel i get that same error msg. In other words, it seems to be the same for all channels I want to watch - it starts and plays fine but if I stop watching and then go back to it later I get the error msg.
I have no idea what I'm doing wrong or if it's a bug.
error when returning to a live TV channel.
Re: error when returning to a live TV channel.
With leanfront, if you stop Live TV on a channel and later try to go back to the channel while the same program is still showing, I expect it will fail. This is because leanfront sets up a program recording for your "Live TV" session. If you exit Live TV before the program ends, it stops the recording. However, MythTV will not allow setting up another recording for the same program at the same time if the first recording was stopped.
If you plan to come back to the recording after exiting Live TV, you can click the "Record" button or menu item during playback, and the recording will not be stopped. You can exit and recording carries on. You can later find the recording in leanfront and continue to watch it.
leanfront already asks a question whether the user really wants to exit Live TV. Maybe I should add a warning that they cannot come back to that program again if they exit.
I suspect that if, after stopping a LiveTV playback, you restart the backend, you may be able to get back into that channel with that program again. However this is really an undesirable practice as it would intefere with any other recordings in progress.
I will take a look at it to add a warning and try to give a better message than status Null.

Re: error when returning to a live TV channel.
Please open an issue in leanfront
https://github.com/bennettpeter/android ... ont/issues
and I will fix it so that you can return to a previously watched program in Live TV.

Re: error when returning to a live TV channel.
I tested this today and I cannot reproduce your problem. Please ignore my comments about returning to the same to the channel while the same program is still showing. I am able to do this repeatedly without any failure.
Leanfront does take a long time for tuning, but it does eventually get there.
If you still have the problem, please can you do the following test:
in leanfront, when you go back to the channel to watch for a second time, once you see the spinning progress bar, go to the following URL:and see what the status is of the recording. Keep refreshing and you should see it start at PENDING, then TUNING, then RECORDING. Once it is RECORDING for a few seconds, leanfront will start playing it back. Perhaps it is unable to record for some reason, then the status should tell why.

Re: error when returning to a live TV channel.
This issue is related to a stream buffering or session timeout problem.
Try clearing the Leanfront app's cache or reinstalling it.
if this isn't work you can try to update the Shield's firmware or check if the application require any update.
these methods can work and resolve this issue

Re: error when returning to a live TV channel.
A recent version of leanfront has changed much of the way LiveTV operates and made many improvements. Try it again and see if your problem still exists.
