I have a new FIreTV 4K Max and it was working perfectly until recently. The software version of the Fire OS 7.2.5.5 (PS7255/2465) The mythfrontend is mythfrontend-20210819-arm-v31.0-163-g5da2523154-dirty.apk
I have to set the Video setting Audio Read ahead to 1000 to avoid audio drop outs. It starts playing a recording as normal but if I try to skip using the right arrow, it may work one or two times but then the audio is lost and the picture gets faster. For example a 1080i (1920x1080@30) recording will start playing a 44 FSP instead of 29.97+/- 0.10. I have a verbose log capture using adb. The log is too big for this forum, so I've put it in pastbin https://pastebin.com/XprSRQyu
EDIT: I've also seen the playback change from 30 FPS to ~ 75 +/- 10 FPS
audio lost and video speeds up after skip in Mythfrontend

Re: audio lost and video speeds up after skip in Mythfrontend
As a way to narrow this down. I've tried a few things. First, I looked at the network connection from the FireTV Max. With Ethernet it is 61Mbs on a 233Mbs cable modem. On Wifi 6 (both router and Max support) it's 233Mbs.
I changed to a FireTV 4K regular and checked it's speed and it's 61Mbs ethernet and 231Mbs on WiFi 5Ghz. However, mythfrontend works as it's always worked on v31 backend and mythfrontend-20210819-arm-v31.0-163-g5da2523154-dirty.apk on the FireTV.
Next step is to make sure the MAX has the same setup for video profile as the regular Fire TV.
