Running v31.0-144 frontend on a 4GB Pi4 under Buster Lite.
Playing recordings of UK DVB-T and DVB-T2 broadcasts from a master backend over wired gigabit ethernet. (The playback Pi is exclusively a myth frontend only).
Have noticed occasional brief glitches in the audio output - typically one channel will drop out for much less than a second. It can go several minutes without a problem, then there might be a few glitches within the space of a minute or two.
This happens on both HD and SD recordings.
I've noticed it on both the HDMI and analogue outputs from the Pi.
Questions:
1. Has anyone else noticed this?
2. Are there any audio output settings I can play with on the pi?
3. Does anyone think updating to v32 (perhaps on 64 bit) might help?
4. If I do update to v32, will a v32 frontend talk to a v31 backend? I'm loathe to fiddle with the backend while it's working well.

Re: Very brief audio glitches
I'm not running v31 anymore. But I know that when audio drops out when playing a recording I play with the setting in Advanced Video setting for Audio read ahead. It defaults to 100, but I run it 400 or higher to solve some audio drop outs.

Many thanks for the pointer.jfabernathy wrote: ↑Thu May 26, 2022 8:42 amI'm not running v31 anymore. I'll play around with the setting and report back.
EDIT:
I tried setting readahead to 400ms - still get dropouts. Then tried 600ms - still get dropouts.
I think my next step is to try updating to v32.
But to re-ask an earlier question: will a v32 frontend work with a v31 backend?
