Keyboard unresponsive when running in QT mode

I am running mythtv-light 31.0-54 on my Raspberry PI 3 using latest version of Raspbian.
Everything works fine when running under Desktop/X.

But when I run under console using
QT_QPA_EGLFS_ALWAYS_SET_MODE="1" QT_QPA_PLATFORM=eglfs mythfrontend
myth launches but the keyboard is completely unresponsive.

Trying <ALT><PRINT SCREEN>R, doesn't help unfreeze the keyboard while in mythtv s(though the trick does help unfreeze the keyboard *after* I kill myth from my ssh login and try to use the console again)

Any thoughts on why mythtv under QT is not seeing the input from my keyboard?

Note I am using a (wireless) Logitech KP-400Plus keyboard that otherwise works just fine either on the console shell or under Desktop/X.

Never mind... solved the problem.
I needed to add the user to the 'input' group...
