Hello,
Has anyone set up a watchdog for thier raspberry pi backend? I have found some guidance on the advantages of using internal or external timers but I was wondering for those using a pi as a backend how often does the pi freeze up?
The guidance I found was here:

Any thoughts are welcome.
Kind regards
Rob

Re: Watchdog
I run full mythtv (frontend & backends) V31 on both Pi3 and Pi4 (4GB) and they don't freeze/lockup.
On both systems, root file system is on SSD, so the micro SD card is only used for boot.
I have also run with root file system on normal spinning Hard Disks, again no lockups.

Hi Mike and James,
Thanks for your input. One less headache, thinking the PI will go down without me being aware of it.
Everything except the SSD arrived yesterday so looking forward to getting it all set up.
Kind regards
Rob.
