The patches for Meltdown, Spectre and now ZombieLoad are making the chips run slower. Just about every unpatched computer with an Intel chip dating back to 2011 is vulnerable. According to multiple sources, Intel has indicated the patch for ZombieLoad would impact performance by about three to nine percent, but "would not likely be noticeable".
Apple, Microsoft, Google, Canonical (Ubuntu) and other device and software providers have released patches. Ubuntu users should update the kernel, intel-microcode, and qemu packages. Information abut this for Ubuntu users is available here.
