am hoping for insight here.
I'm trying to phase out my 2009 vintage hardware with ubuntu 14.04/Myth .27 in favour of newer NUC hardware with xubuntu 22.04/XFCE/Myth 32.
The new system works fine with a wired UK keyboard and mouse.
I have a UK 'wireless' keyboard and understand it communicates via bluetooth with its USB dongle.
The keyboard works perfectly with my old ubuntu 14.04/Myth .27 system.
It's also fine if I plug the dongle into my xubuntu 20.04/XFCE laptop or into a Windows 10 system.
With the new system though the wireless keyboard is corrupting. If I type the first line here the second is displayed:
Code: Select all
#ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ0123456789abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz£$#
#ABCDEFGH51230N6-QRST4VWXYZ*123456789abcdefgh51230n6-qrst4vwxyz£$#
I just cannot see the pattern here. It does not appear to be a single bit error.
Both the xubuntu laptop and the failing NUC system have matching settings of 105 keyboard and UK layout.
If I unplug the dongle the keyboard stops communicating entirely so I think that eliminates communication with the BT
receiver inside the NUC. I assumed anyway that the bluetooth nature of the keyboard/dongle communication would be 'hidden' from xubuntu.
Any insight really welcomed!
