Audio Sync Issues with .27

Post by ajaxmike »

I have been using mythtv BE and openelec/xbmc FE up to release .26 without any trouble. The BE automatically upgraded to Ubuntu 13.10 which also upgraded myth to .27. This broke the installation as openelec/xbmc is at .26. Until xbmc catches up, I reverted to mythtv on the FE however the audio almost never syncs. The FE is Linux Mint 16.

When it first tunes in, it is close, but it will float worse and worse within minutes. It happens on LiveTV and recordings. I am using hdmi 5.1 audio. Watching a video with VLC or xbmc is fine, so I know it is not a hardware issue.

I have tried to adjust the sync on the FE, but it is as if the setting has no effect. I have tried a range of about -4000 to +4000. It usually so badly off that I sometimes can't tell if the audio is ahead or behind.

First guess, you're using PulseAudio.
