Hauppauge Win dcr 2650 connection problem

Post by johnsidle »

Backend setup, Capture Cards, New Capture Card, Card Type, HD HOMERUN Networked Tuner then shows "Use HD HOMERUN 2010164E (hdhomerun3_cable card 192.168.52.255). This doesn't seem correct since this is a two tuners device. Selecting this and proceeding through setup to input connections fetching channels from listing source (Schedules direct which has been properly set up) no channels are set up and my install is stopped here.

The cable card tuner has been set up and going to hdhomerun_config_guide in terminal I am able to scan and view channels from Spectrum on VLC.

I love mythtv and have used successfully until I did and upgrade/update which broke it. I have never been able to recover!

I am so close I would appreciate some help.

I had a 2650 many moons ago. I used mythfilldatabase in a terminal to create the channels, but it should be possible to do it automatically using Schedules Direct.

Thanks for the reply but I think the first order of business is getting the backend setup to recognize the two tuners in the 2650.

This doesn't seem correct since this is a two tuners device.
It's normal for the 2650 be to be detected as an HDHR Prime. The 3 is just part of the name.

I'd check that the 2650 is working correctly by installing Kodi and the official SiliconDust free Kodi addon. There was previously a live tv addon. I remember that it recognized the 2650 as a HDHR device. I don't know for sure if the current addon will do the same, but I'm thinking it will. If it works in Kodi, it should work in MythTV.
