2 watts is better than 50 watts

Post by nelsonseyes »

There is a MythTV system containing a Hauppauge WinTV-quadHD card which successfully Suspends and Resumes, except the WinTV card is non-functional after the Resume. This is made manifest in MythTV, Watch TV by the message:

Code: Select all

You should have received a channel lock by
now. You can continue to wait for a signal
or you can change the channel with Up or
Down, change video source (Y), inputs (C),
  etc,
  OK
overlaid with two instances of:

Code: Select all

Taking more than 4000 ms to get a lock.
instead of the usual "TLAMGV lock" displayed on channel status lines. It would be better to configure this system to Suspend whenever nothing is being recorded nor watched, and have the system remain fully functional upon Resume.

Has anyone else yet experimented to see which modules need to be removed in Suspend and reinstalled in Resume for this card to remain functional?

Code: Select all

 lsmod | grep cx
shows 18 modules involved with this card.

Code: Select all

Hauppauge WinTV-quadHD
 - Four HDTV Tuners
 - Model 1609 [SL-1609-V1.5-US on bottom of packaging box]
 - one half-height PCIe (PCI Express) board for x1 or x16 slot
 - Hauppauge IR remote control
 - IR receiver cable
 - coax connector for ATSC antenna cable
 - 4 conductor phono jack for IR receiver cable
Should I start a page in the style of:
[this site]/wiki/Hauppauge_WinTV_HVR5525
to document how to utilize this ATSC (and clear QAM) card?
