[Solved] Recorder failed

I have completed a reformat and installation of Ubuntu 18.04 and then installed Mythtv 31 with Schedules Direct. Everything seems to be working. I get the programming for the next 18 days and all the channels are there. I set it up to record some programs. In the media library it is showing the programs that were scheduled. The lettering for the shows is in blue and when I try to play it says that the Recording is unavailable. File cannot be found". Any suggestions on where I should begin to look?

To the logs! More specifically to the mythbackend logs.

If the log isn't helpful, try bumping up the loglevel to debug and record some arbitrary program.

Let the hunt begin!

Are the recordings actually there are not? Does the backend user have permissions to the dir. If not, then it can't record them. post path to recordings group using ll.

I found the problem. I had to change the directory permissions and from me to mythtv.
