Success setting up 1st video source using steps in the wiki, 2nd video source setup somewhat flakey.
My HDHomerun Prime is "CC", and my HDHomerun Connect is "OTA".
Question: Do I need a different sequence of commands since I have two listing sources? I have tried different combinations, with no different results.
1) tv_grab_zz_sdjson_sqlite --manage-lineups --config-file $HOME/.mythtv/CC.xmltv
2) tv_grab_zz_sdjson_sqlite --configure --config-file $HOME/.mythtv/CC.xmltv
3) tv_grab_zz_sdjson_sqlite --days 0 --config-file $HOME/.mythtv/CC.xmltv
4) tv_grab_zz_sdjson_sqlite --manage-lineups --config-file $HOME/.mythtv/CC.xmltv
Going through all of the steps to setup "CC" I have no issues....
SchedulesDirect.DB is created
CC.xmltv is created
I can select the channels I want, and see them in the channel editor.
If I go through the same sequence for my OTA source, no errors, seems successful, however the expected new channels do not appear in the channel editor. Since step 1 includes "Select option 4 Initialize/update the local database" for the CC.xmltv source, It seems necessary to run step 1 again for the OTA source, as well as steps 2,3,& 4.
So I go back into the video source setup, attempt to get the 37 OTA channels from my source list without success.
Manually scanning for channels works (with one problem) and the channels are now available in the channel editor.
The "one problem" is minor....after the manual scan retrieves my 37 channels, I attempt to manually insert only the channels I want, and cannot. Only inserting ALL channels works. If I try to not insert the first channel presented, the routine exits, the scan is lost, and no channels are inserted.
Not a huge problem, but odd that my 800 channel cable source is easier to setup than my 37 OTA channels.
BTW, in the end, my channel editor contains all channels I want, mythfilldatabase runs fine. Just seems a little more complicated than it should be, so assume I'm missing something...IDEAS?

Re: Setup with tv_grab_zz_sdjson_sqlite
For over the air channels, mythfilldatabase cannot insert into the database since it does not know the frequencies and other details needed for the channels. So for over the air you have to scan to get the channels setup, and then go in and manually set the xmltv id for each channel. Make sure you use the correct values, it uses values like I112743.json.schedulesdirect.org not just the number.
You are not missing anything, it is much more difficult setting up over the air than cable card channels.

Re: Setup with tv_grab_zz_sdjson_sqlite
Thanks. Where do I "go in" and set the xmltv id? In the channel editor, or in the sqlite database? Since I have done neither, and mythfilldatabase populates my program guide with 18 days of data, I can think of only one way that could happen. Every time I have setup my video sources, I have setup the cable source first, them messed with the OTA source. Since my cable source contains all of the local OTA channels, but with different channel numbers, is it possible that the xmltv id is being picked up somehow? When testing, I scheduled a program to record on PBS, cable channel 1039, and noticed in the Program Guide that the "record indicator" (red R) was displayed both in the cable channel 1039 listing and the OTA channel 39_1 listing. This was unexpected, since my previous box, Mythbuntu 14.02/027-fixes did not do this. I just wiped my test box, and began a clean install. I will setup the OTA source first this time and see what happens. Thanks for your help.

Ste the xmltvid in MythTV, in the channel editor. If you have mythweb, you can also set them using that. Did they somehow get set automatically?
