kodi frontend shwing channels and guide - channel unavailable

Some posts say to shut off ipv6, but that is not possible with mythtv backend? Also mythtv frontend also not working (screen briefly shows pattern and then
goes off).
Any suggestions appreciated.

I am running Ubuntu 16.04 on a zotac fanless 4 cpu celeron processor. I have loaded mythtv 28.1 using schedules direct.
It shows correct channels selected from SD and their corresponding XML ID's. The Kodi frontend shows the correct channels and guide info, but when I try to activate a channel, I get the "Channel Unavailable" message. I have seen posts that mythtv can start up before the tuners and/or network are up?
Is this that problemj?
