timed out, no signal

Hi Guys,
Im using edubuntu 14.04 (kids pc)

I successfully installed the mythtv backend to watch OTA tv from other computers in my house using KODI.


I am using a Kworld USB ATSC TV STICK 1b80:e34c

My antenna is installed about 15 ft above ground and I have have very strong signal of about 50 channels when I do a channel scan in Kaffeine. most of the channels show about 90% strength and play fine

In the mythtv-setup though when I do a scan I can only pick up about 6 channels. Everything else shows Timed out, no signal.
I have changed the channel scan time to 3000ms with no luck. Kaffeine uses 1500 ms and picks up all the channels fine.

How can I solve this issue.

Please tell me any output you would like to see and I will post it as soon as I get home.
