The backend seems to be setup correctly, and the frontend seems to be connecting to the backend just fine. However, it I try to watch Live TV, the screen simply flashes, then nothing happens.
Similarly, setting up recordings (anything really, just to test proof of concept) results is "Recorder Failed".
My assumption is that this is related to the storage directory. However I know from experience that if I do not have a valid directory setup, then MythBackend reminds me and attempts to get me to correct things.
I wish to get my system running. Will you help me?
- Default Storage Group: Presently set to /home/purdie/Videos/ (Yes, I realize this isn't optimal but it shouldn't be a show stopper for initial setup, should it?)
- Folder Permissions: I'm not a command-line guru, so I've stuck to GUI. Right clicking in Thunar in this folder and going to "Properties" enables me to click a Permissions tab. I've set the Group to "mythtv" with Access of "read & write". Additionally and to ensure no troubles, I've even set "Others" to "read & write".
- Beyond that, I'm not sure what to do. Channel scan is fine (using an HDHomeRun tuner). Additionally, using the HDHomeRun app on other computers & smartphone ensure that TV signal quality is just fine, so it's not a lack of signal available. SchedulesDirect lineup is pulling in just fine - using the same lineup setup used on my prior box for 8 years.
Thank you.
