hi, I have read up on input groups and I think I understand that the only time there should be different input groups is when you have competing demands...like and analog and digital tuner on the same card?...In the wiki (https://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Setup_Input_Connections) it says that normally, all the input groups should be named 'Generic'. When I look at my .27current backend, where I have a 2255 dual tuner card, input group 1 is something like'/dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0' and input group 2 is generic. when i change input group 1 to generic and save, it seems to revert to '/dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0' next time I go to that screen.....

so, am I doing something wrong? should input group 1 be generic or /dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0 ?

Mine points to the DVB adapter with generic for input 2. Been working since 2005. Still running 0.27.6.

ok, so maybe the wiki is wrong when it says that both input 1 and 2 should be generic?

Default is generic. Once you save it, it will set it to the proper input automagically.
