At 03:02:12 it successfully opened the video codec:

These messages indicate it was successfully getting video frames:

This looks strange. Can you try this again with -v playback option and collect the log. It may be better to use pastebin than pasting direct into the forum.
Watch TV (live) Is Black/Jittery But Recorded Program Is OK

Re: Watch TV (live) Is Black/Jittery But Recorded Program Is
Thanks for your continued assistance on this problem. I added -v playback and restarted mythfrontend. I recreated the problem with LiveTV channel 1004 which froze on a black screen (with the blue bar displaying the program info), then successfully exited LiveTV and played a recording for channel 1002. Both channels are 1080i and should use VDPAU per the playback profile. I read through the log but nothing (other than the decode failure messages) popped out to me. I clipped and attached the clipped log file.

Re: Watch TV (live) Is Black/Jittery But Recorded Program Is
Were you able to see anything in the -v playback output? Recorded program playback continues to work fine while LiveTV still has the black video problem (audio is fine). Both use my customized profile (VDPAU with rez>=1080 and OpenGL with 1080>rez>=720). With the standard VDPAU High Quality or OpenGL High Quality profiles LiveTV works (though jittery).
Re: Watch TV (live) Is Black/Jittery But Recorded Program Is
I'm still having the same troubles trying to watch live TV. Certain channels have black video when I use my custom playback profile (VDPAU with rez>=1080 and OpenGL with 1080>rez>=720). If I use VDPAU rez>=0 or OpenGL rez>=0 Live TV video works, though is jittery. Recorded playback of the same channel (recorded in parallel with the failed LiveTV) with the same custom playback profile is fine. Clearly LiveTV is not handling the custom profile correctly somehow. I attached mythfrontend -v playback log to this record. Perhaps it's time to generate a problem record. Can someone point me to how to do that?
Re: Watch TV (live) Is Black/Jittery But Recorded Program Is
Can anyone point me to how to generate a problem report? Since LiveTV has black video but the same file plays back fine as a recording it's pretty clear that LiveTV is somehow not using the playback profile correctly. Thanks.
