Can I ask about DVD playback or is it over the line? My understanding is that a program like VLC, for instance, has legit decode and if I paid for the hardware and the DVD, and got a legit codec for decode then I'm doing it right.
My son's Christmas 'Thomas the tank engine' DVDs won't play on my Ubuntu 13.10-based MythFE/BE - I get the (really) very helpful 'failed to read first 8912bytes'. Get the same result with a lot of rented DVDs. I believe it indicates a scheme of bad sectors distributed on the disk to defeat... Nope, I don't know who they expect to defeat. People who want to pay for and use their product, I guess. As it is, the disk doesn't even mount properly.
Is there some solution to this?

Ugh. Not sure how to delete this post, but I hadn't run the 'install-css.sh'. Perennial noob.
