Lost Ticket Thread

Post by mfriesen »

Somehow I started getting ticket info on an active problem with OTA EIT gathering. Myth sent me an interesting email which linked to a patch which might resolve my issue with 'bogus' EIT info. Now when I go back to the Myth Ticket area, the Ticket Number is no longer there.

In the thread I asked a Noob question on how to perform the patch. Someone from that side of things informed me that the ticket area wasn't a forum as such and that the regular forum was the place for such questions. Having said that he was nice enough to give me a quick overview as to what is involved in 'patching' the program. It went over my head. I was going to research it a bit more today, but all of the info has been moved (deleted?).

Where did it go?

It's still there. The instructions are two comments up.
The patch that was just committed was on 0.28-pre.
This will help if you're going to get into building from
source (which is required in order to apply patches
like this one.)

commands right at the top.)

So if I use that git command structure and substitute ".28" will I get the patched version that is discussed in the Ticket?

Then I'm assuming I'll have to figure out how to compile the source and apply it to my computer somehow. I think there's a bit of a learning curve in there. Does anyone know of a link to a "How to"?

If I wait long enough, will the patch eventually be picked up by my PPA updates?

Yes, the commit was added to master on Mon Nov 23 19:33:30 2015 +0100.
I can't comment on when it will be available, but builds after the above would
likely include it (I don't use them or EIT for that matter.)
