MythVideo screen not updating properly

Hello all. This is my first post. First, my thanks to all the devs for supporting this project.

I have been using Mythtv since about 2008, and I have been able to keep my installs up and running without assistance. I have finally come across two items that I cannot fix, so I am turning to this forum to see if what I am seeing is duplicatable or not.

I will describe one issue here. The other is in the category of Ripley’s Believe It or Not, so that will be a separate post.

Currently I am running xubuntu 22.04 and I am pulling Mythtv from the mythbuntu ppa. I am up to date with fixes for version 34.

I have a combined backend/frontend for my main system, and a frontend system in another room. Both systems exhibit this behavior.

As this issue is rather subtle, I am unable to state when this issue first appeared, but it may have been when upgrading from v32 to v34 when v34 was initially released (I skipped over v33).

I am using Storage Groups.

The issue relates to the Videos selection screen on the MythVideo application. I am using List view. The issue appears when using other view options.

Upon entering the MythVideo application, I see an indication of the directory path at the very top of the screen, three columns showing the directories and videos directly below, and and indication of what is currently selected right below the 3 columns. There is also a count of the number of items in the list shown in the very lower left. Sorry if I am not using the correct nomenclature.

When I navigate in the left hand column and the list is short, I see the directory path at the very top update as I scroll around, and the current selection that is show below the three columns also updates based on the selection. The item number in the lower left also updates. This is working as expected.

However, If there are more items that can be displayed in a column and I scroll the list up or down, the directory structure, current selection, and item count stop updating.

Once I scroll in the left hand column, the 3 indicators for directory path, current selection and item count do not update and continue to show the last item that was selected before scrolling to the new item on screen. I see the same behavior if I need to scroll in the second or third columns. The columns, however, update properly. If I scroll down a bit, then back up, the data is updated properly, until I scroll off screen again.

My main system is using an nVidia card and I am using nvdecode. I have changed to vdpau and still see the issue. The frontend only box is using an Intel video ‘card’ and also exhibits the issue.

I have screenshots showing this issue, however, it appears that I am not allowed to add attachments.

Has anyone seen this issue? I have poked around GitHub and could not find any similar issues reported.

Issue is fixed in master. Yet to be backported to versions 35 and 34. Unless somebody does that before me I intend to do that after my holidays.
