Mythtv Android Frontend ... mileage DOES vary

Post by scharnke »

I have not had much success with either the current client it the Beta release in streaming video to my Android devices. Is there a particular video player on android that consistently works? Right now I manage using the lowres Floplayer on mythweb, but would appreciate better quality. :?

DicePlayer works for me using the 540p Playback Profile. But that's testing within 60' of my router and your Topic suggests much greater distances.

It has been a year since I last ran my tests, but here were my results with MobileMyth https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc ... vZWc#gid=0

I use the free version of MXPlayer on my Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 7 (2012) and Nexus 5. All have been positive experiences with recordings from Australian FTA, plyed locally or remotely (over SSH tunnelling).

I also use the Plex app coupled with the MythTV channel. Works a treat (for completed recordings)!
