Looking for a new compact Myth machine with PCIe

Post by prosmart »

Greetings

Been running Myth for around 10 years or so - currently on an i3-4150 @ 3.5Ghz running Ubuntu 20.04LTS. Data is all held on a QNAP and mounted via SMB. 16GB RAM. Hauppauge WinTV-QuadHD Four HD Digital PCIe TV Tuner

We're reorganising the lounge and I decided that this was a good time to look for some replacement hardware.

So, I'm looking for a compact box (shuttle size) available in Australia with enough grunt to drive MythTV, that will take a PCIe card (the current Hauppauge tuner), give me decent video output via HDMI to a Sony TV and good sound (I'm currently pumping my computer output via a set of 5:1 Logitech speakers.

Can anyone make any suggestions please? Budget is preferably sub AU$500.00.

Thanks and Regards

Nigel
