HDhomerun setup in Myth 0.19+fixes problems

Post by jimls »

Got a HDhomerun duo based on reports it was well supported. Now I am having trouble getting through setup.

There are pages that describe installation but they claim to require 0.20 or later even though support is reported to be implemented much earlier and I have a selection for these tuners in my software. What's up with the requirement for 0.20? Here is a page:
I am able to select the HDHomerun from the tuner list as described here:
https://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Setup_Capture_Cards
But I don't see how to set up the two tuners. I found this that states it requires 0.20 or later.

https://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Silicondust_HDHomeRun_Dual
Although the url states "dual" this is the link from the index page for the connect duo as well.

Where can I find a detailed guide for installing this?

I finally got the IP address followed by -0. I tried to add another for the second tuner and it also came up as IP-0. How do I get an entry for the second tuner?

That's good, you're on v29.1, not v0.19.

You should be able to go to the HDHomeRun's web page on
your backend and see that it's connected.

hdhomerun_config will tell you what IP is in use (sudo apt-get install
hdhomerun-config works for *buntu if you don't have it.) Mine HDTC-2US
looks like this (you don't have to use a Link Local address):

Code: Select all

$ hdhomerun_config discover
hdhomerun device 105341FF found at 169.254.46.223
