Inexpensive rig for recording clear QAM

Post by motocrossmann »

I'm looking for a minimalist rig to record Formula 1 races and not much else. I do not plan to use the software on any frequent basis, and really would like to be able to schedule recordings via a web interface and then download the recordings across the internet. I don't need any fancy interfaces for downloading or anything, an SSH tunnel with SFTP is fine. I know all about the channel shifting of ClearQAM - I can manually pick times to record. What would be a good inexpensive rig and tuner combo to consider?

I use mythtv with HD Homerun tuners. Before building an antenna farm in my attic, I was recording all the locals and more on QAM unencrypted. TWC in Maine.
Panas 65" ZT60 plasma.
50" samsung DLP
4 attic antennas
4 HD Homeruns
RPi4's
