Comcast STB, does firewire still work?

Post by raydude »

I just got comcast free for a year, does the Comcast RNG110 still allow Mythtv to record from the Fire Wire Connection?

I don't want to waste my time if it doesn't.

Thanks.

I don't know, but have you considered replacing the STB and getting a cablecard? Good luck.

I used that until a couple of years ago. It was rather unstable, would lose connection from time to time and require power recycling. Channel changing had to be done with an IR blaster. It was not really a good solution. the cable card was much better, and I get some savings from Comcast for having my own equipment.
