I'd appreciate advice on graphics choice.
I'm still running Mythbuntu 14.04 on my ageing AMD system but want to upgrade to 0.28.
The setup has an on-board nvidia 8300 which has performed superbly with my UK DVB-T/Mpeg2 standard definition transmissions, though it was a trial to get it going even under 14.04 - downgrade to 304.117 driver was necessary.
Is this likely to be stable in 16.04 / 0.28 or would you recommend upgrade to a PCIe based card? Would something like a GeForce GT 710 1GB DDR run well? Are there any subtleties about the required spec I should look out for?
Regards
Phil

Re: Graphics choice
I'm using the 304.135 driver with my nvidia based 8200 systems and it works good. All my systems are old amd systems. The 340.xxx driver didn't work well at all. The generic driver worked better than the one I tried. You should be fine with what you have.
