new user question on tuner and graphics

Post by john75 »

I used the HVR-2250 tuner (see below) for Windows Media Center. I now want to switch to MythTV on Linux Ubuntu desktop. Will this tuner work? Do I need to install a driver for it? If so, where do I get it? Also, will I be OK with integrated graphics (it worked with media center) or will I need a separate graphics card? In general, I guess I’m asking if the system as described below is sufficient to to allow me to install and run MythTV.

Mother board: ASRock Z77 Pro 4 with integrated sound and viIwideo
Hard Drive 1: WDOEM WD1TB BLUE SATA6.0 HD (1000 Gb) w/Ubuntu 14.04.3 Desktop OS
Hard Drive 2: Toshiba (500 GB) w/Windows 10 OS
Memory: CRUCIAL 8GB 4X2D3 1333 DIMM CL
TV tuner: Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-2250 (two tuners)
