Does Geniatech T230 work and MythTV

Hi

I'm running a Linux server at the moment with MythTV on it and have the PCTV 292e TV stick currently plugged in which seems to work fine expect that it can't switch to another channel frequency automatically (I read that this is a bug and will hopefully be resolved before the end of 2015 I hope )

I'm looking at buying another USB TV stick with DVB-T2 capabilities for streaming TV to other devices in my home.

I found the Geniatech / MyGica T230 at a reasonable price but wanted to check first if it works well or at all with MythTV, before buying it.

Can you confirm whether the Geniatech / MyGica T230 USB TV Tuner stick works with MythTV?

If there is a linux driver in the kernel for it, which it looks like there is since kernel 3.19, then MythTV will work OK with it.

I have an August branded version of the Geniatech T230. It works OK with MythTV for SD but refuses to see or tune to HD channels. I read that a change to Myth was in the works to address this limitation as it is a HD capable device. If anyone knows about this issue and how to fix it I'd like to know. Such tuners are half the price of the PCTV 292e.

Sounds like the Geniatech T230 is basically the same as the PCTV 292e. So you need the support for non-autoswitching tuners which is on the list of things to merge to 0.27

Just wanted to check if the fix was available to try yet as I see the one ticket was closed

I have a MyGica / Geniatech T230 unit but it doesn't seem to be picking up any dvb-t2 channels, only dvb-t, even though I know I can get these (my PCTV 292e can pick up the channels).

Do you perhaps know of a way to force the T230 to pick up dvb-t2 channels?
