Opening / removing case from WinTV-dualHD
I have a Hauppauge WinTV-dualHD that I am using with an Odroid H4+ and I want to put it all inside a custom case. I noticed that the dualHD can get a bit warm when running so I thought of removing the outer plastic case from it to aid with airflow. Does anyone know of any problems with doing that? I assume I can just pry it open and all the internal components will be soldered to the board, but I'm worried that there might be some loose components that could fall out or break off if I remove the case.

Additionally, has anyone tried de-soldering the built in IR receiver?
Since I'm putting it in a custom case I want the IR receiver to be on the front and the WinTV at the back. So i want to extend it with wires.
